Entrepreneur Business Forum.

An entrepreneur needs certain leadership skills to succeed. This leadership skills list should give you a good idea of the types of skills that will be necessary to become a successful entrepreneur. You do not need all of these skills but it is essential to identify where your strengths and weaknesses are so you can maximise on strengths and substitute where you have weaknesses.

The leadership skills list



*Decisiveness – a leader needs to be a able to make decisions and consider the effect it will have on everyone these sometimes have to be made under pressure.

*Patience – a leader needs to have patience to deal with people as suppliers, customers or employees are not always perfect.

*Communication skills – a leader needs to able to communicate the jobs and overall goal clearly so that anybody else involved in the business knows what to do and why.

*Planning skills – a leader is the one that leads so needs to be able to plan effectively so that he can achieve the targets and finally the overall goal.

*Discipline – a leader needs to have discipline so that they will not lose their temper in difficult situations or when dealing with problems in the business.

*Confidence – a leader needs confidence because if the leader shows a lack of confidence in the business then this will influence negatively on anybody that they lead.

*Persistence – a leader needs persistence to keep on trying as projects will not always go the way they want and the may need to change their strategy to achieve their businesses objectives.

*Dedication – some things will take lot's of try s to succeed at so a leader needs to be dedicated to the very end.

*Creativity/problem solving – problems will happen so a leader needs to be able to figure out solutions on the fly to solve these problems.


If you have a lot of these skills on this list already then you have a great chance of succeeding in your business venture or as an entrepreneur.

I found myself going down that list and ticking off times in experience when I'd had all of those traits.

I guess in order to expand this discussion I will start with bringing rhetoric to the table when conversation skills are mentioned.

'Art of Manliness' is run by a seemingly successful entrepreneur and I would recommend reading through all of there articles, of which there's all sorts which show a man how to be stronger (in mind & body) and an overall more respected person - traits which are undeniably those you'll want as a leader, and therefore, entrepreneur. (I'm guessing most of the articles on the website will also apply to women too by the way!)
